Bless Skandinavía! Við munum sakna þín!! (Icelandic) Farvel Skandinavia! Vi vil savne deg!! (Norwegian) Good Bye Scandinavia! We will miss you! (English) The Icelandic language is similar to Norwegian because the people who were the first ones to live on the Island and survive were the Norwegian Viking explorers and they spoke Norwegian. They were very isolated on Iceland though because it was very hard to travel back to Norway and they didn't have electricity or phones or anything so they kept talking the same way as always while back in Norway, the language changed more with the times and was also influenced by other European countries that were close by and they traveled back and forth and spoke to each other so the language continued to change. If you have ever read anything that was written back when the US was new, you would notice we don't talk like that anymore either all though we still speak the same language. It's like if you lived in the 1700s you would say:
